FASTENING NP Nilssons’ choise

NP Nilsson is a large chain of building materials stores in northwest Skåne that has enjoyed the confidence of the region’s builders for many years. Fasteners are naturally an important product. When Christiania Spigerverk, his former supplier, was acquired by Gunnebo Industries a few years ago, purchaser Bengt “Multi” Maltesson announced a test:

“Before we chose a new fastener supplier we let our customers test equivalent products from several different manufacturers,” said Bengt. “We sent out test packets with screws and nails to different builders. This is the quickest way to find out if new products work in the real world.”

Bengt tells us that he chose the product brand Gunnebo Fastening mainly for the quality, excellent logistics and a dedicated sales team, and that he hopes for a lasting cooperation.

“One doesn’t readily change a fastener supplier; it can be a matter of more than 2,000 part numbers. Preferably, things should work for five or ten years, and in Gunnebo we have a stable partner for the future.”

These days the Gunnebo Fastening products are often specified on construction company drawings. One example is a hot-dip galvanized screw used these days in joists in two-story houses, superior to the screw Anders happened to see on a drawing.
